Ooopsie - after the tumor

 So, I was heading for my dearest cousin´s birthday party (well first staying at my parents'  and driving up to Verden from there) ...

... and then I was out. Taken straught to hospital the diagnosis of a braintumor was a bit of a shock. Meningeoma grew larg unnoticed and knocked me out with an epileptic fit right in the S-bahn to central station. Few days later it was taken out and I was running around with a bandage covering the zipper closing up my skull, not two days later makig this sketch in the neighbouring palace gardens, meeting a lovely elderly couple from England, sketching in their journals as well. 

Belvedere, Park Charlottenburg

Was awkward sketching. Obviously relieved that I had come through with my brain undamaged alltogether I still had dislodged my right shoulder and am hardly able to raise my right arm (which might not be too bad a feat - as krauts go!).

Orangery Park Sanssouci

 Berlin sketchers meeting in Potsdam to draw the greenhouse in park Sanssouci there. Thought I´d give it another go WITH them. Scorching hot, ran for cover and shade after finishing. 

Sessions i the Harp

 After settling in I was desperate to join some irish trad session again. I had found them and where they played. Only their Wednesdays clashed - sometimes with my irish classes on top of teaching the next morning. Eventually, I made it.

 With the fire burning in the hearth. Tá, lasann siad tine sa teallach!!!! Passing cold January Fridays on another angle of the new local I am frequenting.

Same game, same place

 Sitting next to the crackling fire this time, drawing my set-up and sketchblock into the sketch, rather than only emptying pints on marked coasters. 

Arriving

 Slowly getting into the new surroundings and praising my luck of having the best pub in town only a nice stroll from home (only missing the music, dayum!!!) not knowing any regulars yet seems like a good time to pass my hours sampling their Guinness with drawing. Fish eye, perched on the top seat at the bar.

New in Berlin

One should never underestimate the levels of Berlin cordiality. First meeting was actually called by a Berlin-fan from Munich I knew, old Schinkel church.

 When I joined sketchers meetings, looking forward to meet some of my peers I had met annualy from the Munich national moot 2016 onward the welcome was "Wea hat n det jeneemicht, det de hier hea ziehn daafs?!" At first I had put it down for their weird type of fun and chams. Was wong though ...
